Mythic+

/ˈmɪθɪk plʌs/

Common

World of Warcraft's timed, scaling dungeon system where higher key levels increase difficulty and rewards.

Strongly associated with a culture of performance metrics, score tracking, and gatekeeping. Asking someone their 'io score' before inviting them is a Mythic+ thing.

Mythic+ vs raiding

Mythic+

Mythic+ is small-group (5 players), timed, and repeatable with escalating difficulty.

VS

raid-wipe

Raiding involves larger groups (10-30 players) and focuses on scripted boss encounters without a time pressure.

Origin and context

Introduced in World of Warcraft: Legion (2016) as an endgame alternative to raiding. The system was influenced by Diablo's Greater Rift mechanic and became central to WoW's weekly content loop.
