bright-siding

/braɪt saɪdɪŋ/

Uncommon

Forcing positivity onto someone who is struggling, usually dismissing or minimizing their real problems.

Usually critical in tone. The word exists specifically because toxic positivity needed its own name. Calling someone out for bright-siding implies their positivity is doing harm, not good.
